Description of the Z-Wave Door and Window Sensor
This Z-Wave sensor offers information about whether a door or window is open or closed and so is ideal for use as part of a security set up. The product consists of a magnetic element and the main unit. One of the parts is mounted on the moving part of the window or the door, whilst the other part is placed on the frame. The parts can be secured with screws or double-sided tape.
The sensor is a battery-powered device, which is in a sleeping state unless movement of the door or window is detected. This increases the battery life however the sensor does wake every so often to send its status . When the battery is low there is a visual warning on the device and it also sends a warning to your Z-Wave controller.
The sensor can be control up to 4 Z-Wave devices and needs to be included into a network using a remote control or other suitable controller
