Product Description
Product Description
The Presence Detector can detect the presence of a person in the room using PIR (passive infra-red receiver). The detector will send information to a controller or any other associated Z-Wave device and up to 4 devices can be controlled from this device.
The device is powered by battery and will stay in a sleeping state until movement is detected. The sensor can be programmed to sleep for a set amount of time and it will then wake and send a status report. Then the unit will go back to sleeping mode. There is no need to unscrew the device from the door/frame to change the batteries. There is a visual warning on the device that sends a warning to the Z-Wave controller when the batteries need to be replaced. The unit will send an alarm if the device is tampered with.
The lenses within the device can be changed to optimize the monitoring of the room. A built in light sensor can be used to detect ambient light. You need a remote control or any other Z-Wave controller to include the device in a Z-Wave network. For configuration of certain behaviour a static controller such as a PC with home automation software or a gateway is required.
