Description
The Z Wave Wireless Wall Switch by Duwi is battery powered allowing it to be placed in any convenient place. As it doesn't require a connection to the mains, it's useful in situations where you need a switch but don't want to go to the trouble and mess of chiselling out walls and wiring in a conventional switch. The Z Wave Wireless Wall Switch by Duwi can be stuck or screwed to the wall. It can be used as a primary controller to operate other z-wave enable devices such as light switches, dimmers, blinds etc.

Brilliant but with some minor caveats

Aesthetically this switch is pleasing to the eye in my opinion and it also exactly matches the look of the version that includes the actual switching capability. Although mentioned in the description it's worth noting just how slim this switch is - it really can be screwed or stuck directly to a wall.
Technically I've only tried a minimal z-wave set-up so far by linking it to one other matching switch - this was however very simple indeed.
My caveats are as follows:
1) The outer dimensions of the switch are ever so slightly smaller than a standard UK light switch which causes a problem when retro-fitting in place of one.
2) I don't like the way the trim and button clip in to place - it's a "plastic-on-plastic" arrangement which is very tricky to remove (for example to change batteries or adjust z-wave settings) and feels like it might snap after repeated removal/refitting.
