Description of the Z-Wave Smoke Detector by Fibaro
The Fibaro Smoke detector is a high quality, wireless, Z-Wave based smoke sensor. Designing it, Fibar Group engineers considered the fact that certain materials burn without emitting large amounts of smoke. That's why the Z-Wave Smoke Detector by Fibaro has a built in temperature sensor. This means that the sensor reacts to even a small amounts of smoke when a fire starts, by detecting a rapid temperature rise. The Fibaro Smoke Sensor immediately informs of a detected threat through a built-in siren and LED signaling diode illumination. All detected events are recorded in the main controller's memory with alarm signals and information being sent to a suitable Z-Wave controller like the Fibaro HC2.

This little device looks tiny - and very smart. Can't believe its actually a smoke alarm.
Used this to create a whole-home smoke alarm, which flashes all the lights and then leaves them all on - and also emails all primary contacts. Works great, highly recommend. Night to see some 'sexy' looking z-wave devices on the market :)
In initial testing; the girly complained that it could be louder; though she did also tell me to turn it off its doing her head in... for me, it would definitely wake me up - specially coupled to full home automation system :)
