The Horstmann HRT4-ZW is a battery operated Z-Wave enabled room thermostat. The desired temperature in the room can be set locally using the large dial on the front of the unit. It works in the same way as a normal room thermostat but is not hard wired to the heating source, instead control is achieved using Z-Wave wireless signals between the thermostat and the ASR-ZW receiver unit or a suitable switch attached to the heating source. In parallel suitable z-Wave control software or Z-Wave controller like Veralite or Fibaro Home Center 2 can be used to set the target temperature using Z-Wave. This enables you to control heating times and schedule zone heating. The thermostat itself does not have any internal timers but executes the wireless settings (COMMAND CLASS THERMOSTAT_SETPOINT) and the local setup.
